Here’s my month 9 photo. It seems like there are no significant changes from month 8 to 9.  I guess Bio-Oil has done all it could do in minimizing the appearance of my scar over the course of 9 months. It has done an excellent job and from the moment I began using Bio-Oil. I noticed the improvements within in the first couple of weeks.

If you are a new visitor to my site, feel free to look at my previous updates on my scar.   I started using Bio-Oil last July to see if it would actually reduce the appearance of my scar.  And it did!! Although you need a lot of patience and be diligent in applying the product to the scar area twice daily, you can get pretty good results. Below is a photo of my scar before Bio-Oil and how it looks in month 9.

I  feel more confident now then before about wearing summer clothing showing off my legs.  My scar does not stick out like a sore thumb anymore.  If you have a scar that’s embarrasses you every time it is exposed, then you need to try Bio-Oil. The product is affordable and it actually works. Although you need to be patient and diligent in applying it on a regular basis, I think Bio-Oil does a pretty good job in minimizing scars.

Even though there were no significant improvements from Month 7 to 8, I’m thankful that my scar looks a hundred times better now than 8 months ago.

A pretty impressive improvement, don’t ya think? (well at least I think so).

I’m no professional photographer so I apologize for the inconsistent lighting of my photos. If you look at my scar photo gallery, you can see my scar become lighter over the months.

I hope Month 9 would should better results. We shall see…..

Here’s my month 7 photo.  For months 5 & 6, I was not applying Bio-Oil everyday and therefore there was not much of a change. Fortunately, I began my routine again (applying Bio-Oil on my scar twice daily) and you can tell it is slightly lighter. I guess the change is not as significant because I broke my routine and got lazy (hey, I’m not perfect). I didn’t include my photo in this post for months 5&6 because the picture came out too dark. However, you’ll find it in my scar photo gallery.

It’s already February and I can’t believe how much time has passed. I really want my knee to look decent by Spring. I must maintain my routine and so far I’ve been good! =) I think I learned my lesson – Don’t be lazy or you won’t get the result you want.

Bio-Oil really does work and it’s freakin’ amazing! You’ll need to be very patient and make it a routine to apply Bio-Oil.  I’ve been getting many visitors asking me if Bio-Oil works on stretch marks. To be honest, I’ve only tested this product on my scar. I can say for sure that it works on scars. I also read an article where the Red Cross Children’s hospital uses Bio-Oil to treat burn scars on young children.  However, I have not tested Bio-Oil on stretch marks because I don’t have any.  So I can’t really say that it would fade stretch marks.  I’ve heard that it does work and some people swear by it. If you are really curious, try Bio-Oil to see what happens. You have nothing to lose because if it doesn’t work out,  Bio-Oil is an excellent moisturizer. I would love to hear from you on your progress if you do decide to use Bio-Oil on your stretch marks.

Thank you for patience and understanding.  Here is a photo taken in the last week of December 2008. This photo will cover for month 5 & 6  If you compare my month 4 photo with this current one, there is no change.  I have to admit that I was unable to consistently apply Bio-Oil to my scar area for several weeks now due to a personal emergency.  I’ve  started to apply Bio-Oil two times a day two days ago.  Hopefully there will be some improvement in month 7.

There is not much to report this time.  The one thing for sure is that if you stop applying Bio-Oil on your skin problem area, your skin condition will stop improving.  Just like mine did.  Since we are in the month of January and Spring weather will arrive in 4 to 5 months, I really would like to see my scar to fade further and will use this time to wisely!!  Thanks for your support.

HAPPY ME
Now a days I go out with confidence with out worrying about my scar grabbing people’s attention. (I can wear sheer stockings and my scar barely shows through!  Yipeee!)  I’m actually happier person because of Bio-Oil and my skirts that used to packed in the back of my closet are now hanging in the front.

MY DOUBTS …
Since last year, I had always wanted to get rid of my scar but wasn’t sure what products to use. I had heard about Bio-Oil over the Internet and how great it worked on people’s skin problems. In July, I decided to put Bio-Oil to the test because I was keen on putting my life back on track. BETTER LATE THAN NEVER
Had I discovered Bio-Oil earlier,  I would not have wasted the summer that just past. Because I was afraid of people staring at my scarred knee which stuck out like a sore thumb, I was prevented from doing my favourite summer activities (like swimming, beach volleyball, rollerblading etc..) which required exposing my scar. As you can tell, the edge of my scar is beginning to blend in with my skin tone and my scar has gotten lighter too. Wahoo! This product has impressed me so much that I bought a bottle for every member of my family. My mom who suffers from dry skin finds that it keeps her skin well moistened and soft. My sister finds that it fades her new pimple scars quite quickly. If you are sitting on the fence about this product, I say go and get yourself a bottle of Bio-Oil anyway! It comes in two sizes – 2 oz and 4.2 oz.. If it doesn’t work, at least your skin will be well nourished with all those vitamins and skin nourishing essential oils!

I’m very pleased with the result as I do see an improvement on the appearance of my scar. My scar looks smoother and its starting to fade. My scar still has a long way to go. At least some progress has been made and that’s a good sign. In my first post, I mentioned that I also began applying it on my face and all over my legs. I’m very glad that I did. My skin complexion has even out very nicely and the redness on my forehead has almost disappeared. Not to mention, I’m also getting less pimples. (No I won’t post my picture. You’ll just have to trust me on this. ^_^ ) Bio-Oil continues to keep my skin soft and silky without the heaviness and greasiness and I really love its fresh scent. I apply Bio-Oil twice a day and make sure that it is fully absorbed by gently massaging the area in a circular motion for a good two minutes.

According to the Bio-Oil website, it states that new scars have a greater chance of improving within a smaller time frame. Old scars would take longer. In my first post, I mentioned the instructions recommended to use the product for a minimum of three months. I thought that it would take that long to see any changes. Well it seems that Bio-Oil has been working its magic since I started using it and I am very happy. I really hope my scar continues to fade until it becomes less noticeable. I can’t wait to take another picture at the end of month two.
